Appreciating Richmond Industry

Industrial workers and community members listen to David Gilliam, superintendent of Madison County Schools, speak at a luncheon and displays the current designs for two new technical schools in Madison County.

The Richmond Industrial Development Corporation held a luncheon at the Madison County Extension Office to appreciate its industry and celebrate growth. Attendants heard from Richmond Mayor Robert Blythe, Madison County Schools Superintendent David Gilliam and Lee Lingo, the executive director of Kentucky Association of Manufacturing. Gilliam gave a presentation demonstrating two new technical schools to be built in Madison County with one located in both Richmond and Berea. Lee Lingo spoke about the manufacturing industry and how to acclimate to its changes in the years to come.
